Completing the New York City Marathon is a badge of honor for many avid runners, and Kayleigh Williamson is wearing that badge with pride.
The 33-year-old from Austin, Texas, became one of the few women with Down syndrome to complete the grueling race when she finished the 26.2 miles in 10 hours and 9 minutes.
Williamson is no stranger to long-distance running, having previously taken part in the Boston Marathon and 20 half-marathons. However, the New York event was special, as she ran in honor of her late grandmother, who helped inspire her passion for running.
