The Wall Street Journal apologized for a tweet Thursday that featured a photo of Venus Williams with the words “Something’s not all white” after many found it to be insensitive.
The story the tweet promoted focused on an 18-year-old boys singles player, Jurij Rodionov, who was flagged by officials because his undergarments didn’t adhere to the All England Club’s all-white clothing rules. Venus Williams changed out of her pink sports bra during a rain delay earlier this week, the story pointed out.
The apology didn't stop all of the uproar.
The newspaper published a new tweet, using the same picture of Williams with different wording.
