Anisimova defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, July 8 in straight sets to keep her spot as the only American remaining in the women's singles side of the major intact.
The 23-year-old Anisimova is the youngest American Wimbledon semifinalist since Serena Williams in 2004, according to ESPN. She's also making her second semifinal appearance in a Grand Slam major since 2019, when she advanced to the French Open semifinals.
