Ronda Rousey will make her long-awaited return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship octagon on Dec. 30, when she will challenge defending women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.

UFC president Dana White announced the bout on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd of FS1 on Wednesday, ending speculation about Rousey’s future that has raged since she was knocked out by Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia, last November.

That defeat cost Rousey her title, her undefeated record in mixed martial arts and her aura of invincibility in the sport, yet her return figures to be one of the most anticipated fights of the year.

The showdown between Rousey and Nunes, who stunned Miesha Tate to claim the belt at UFC 200 in July, will headline UFC 207 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

White also confirmed that if Rousey defeats Nunes to reclaim the title, she would then fight archrival Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos at some point during 2017.
