Sean O'Malley is finally getting his rematch.

O'Malley will enter the octagon at UFC 316 on Saturday, June 7 in hopes of reclaiming his UFC Bantamweight title from Merab Dvalishvil, who stripped O'Malley of his title back in September. Dvalishvil defeated O'Malley by unanimous decision at UFC 306 on Sept. 14, 2024. Days after the loss in Las Vegas, which marked the second of his career, O'Malley revealed he competed with a torn labrum in his hip that later required surgery.

Following a nearly nine-month break from the cage, O'Malley is healthy and set for his return. Saturday's fight marks O'Malley's first fight since his loss to Dvalishvil.

"It's going to make it take much sweeter of a victory after having (lost) to him," O'Malley said during an interview with UFC leading up to the fight. "I wouldn't accept the fight or ask for the fight if I didn't truly believe that I could go out there and beat him. I know I can and I know I will on June 7."
