USA hockey faces elimination and 4 other things to watch on Day 11 of the Winter Olympics

After an uneven performance in the group stage, the United States men's hockey team faces a do-or-die game against Slovakia with the opportunity to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Americans only won one of the three games preliminary games, but the victory was a 2-1 defeat of Slovakia. Goals have been hard to come by for the U.S., scoring all of four times in the group stage.
A loss would mean another disappointing Olympic result for the U.S. men, who finished fourth in the 2014 Olympics after going unbeaten in the preliminary round.

Men’s hockey
USA game scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET
It's going to be a long road for the U.S. men to medal, as they begin the knockout round facing Slovakia in an elimination game, with the winner moving on to face the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals. The Americans defeated the Slovaks 2-1 in the group stage, but Team USA will need to raise its game in the knockout round. Tuesday's other games are Slovenia vs. Norway, Finland vs. Korea and Switzerland vs. Germany.
Ice dancing
Scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET
Three U.S. couples go into the free dance among the top seven competitors, but the focus will be on the battle for bronze between siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani and national champs Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donahue. Gold and silver should come down to Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir of Canada and Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron of France.
Freestyle skiing
Final runs scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET
American Maddie Bowman can add her second gold in the women’s halfpipe finals. The 2014 Sochi gold medalist is joined by Brita Sigourney and Annalisa Drew in the finals. The Americans have the most entries in the final with three skiers.
Bobsled
Heats scheduled for 6:50 a.m. ET on Tuesday
Elana Meyers Taylor of the USA seeks her third Olympic medal as heats 1 and 2 get underway in women’s bobsled. American Jamie Greubel Poser is also a medal contender after winning bronze in Sochi.

Biathlon
Scheduled for 6:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday
The mixed relay event features two women and two men skiing 6K and 7.5K legs. Germany is the favorite, having already won three gold medals in the sport and six overall at these Games.
