WNBA draft drip check: Aliyah Boston looks like royalty; Alexis Morris channels a music legend

The WNBA is one of the most fashionable leagues in all of sports. So much so that its players have been featured on the runways of New York Fashion Week.
The 2023 WNBA draft is an opportunity for the newest stars to show that not only will they bring excellence on the court, they will show out off of it too.
The league, true to its branding, had the draft prospects walk the orange carpet as they prepared to hear their names called to the professional ranks.
The players impressed with a wide range of well-tailored suits and stunning gowns.
Here is the WNBA draft drip check:
7. Alexis Morris — Louisiana State
After winning the national championship, Alexis Morris channeled Aaliyah, the late queen of cool, for the WNBA draft. The LSU star wore an expertly tailored black suit. Fierce black sunglasses and a simple diamond necklace completed the effortless look.
6. Aliyah Boston — South Carolina
No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston showed up ready to take the stage. She wore a silky white high-waisted jumper with drapery that was fit for an empress. Her flowing purple hair added to the effect of royalty. And, she got her braces off!
5. Dorka Juhász — Connecticut
Dorka Juhász wowed in a classic LBD. The three-quarter sleeves and high neck is simple and modest upon first look. But the dress features a built-in corset that takes the outfit to the next level. The Connecticut Husky-turned-Minnesota Lynx forward kept her hair slicked back behind her ears for her the sparkle of her jewelry to gently shine.
4. Brea Beal — South Carolina
The pop of pink from South Carolina star Brea Beal is straight off of a limited edition collectible Barbie doll. Not only does the suit show that she is here for business, but the bejeweled bralette underneath screams superstar.
3. Haley Jones — Stanford
One of the special parts of draft day is that the players get to celebrate with their family. Stanford's Haley Jones looked dashing in this green getup from Sergio Hudson, which featured a bralette and skirt with a structured blazer. The special touch to her outfit was a ring from her late great-grandmother.
2. Jordan Horston — Tennessee
Tennessee's Jordan Horston knew she was crossing the finish line of her college career and donned a Louis Vuitton checkerboard jacket with smart black trousers. She accessorized the look with a matching belt, black Louis Vuitton loafers and plenty of bling. Her checkerboard nails showed she was fully committed to the look.
1. Zia Cooke — South Carolina
Zia Cooke took the orange carpet straight to Hollywood with this stunning look. The South Carolina Gamecocks-turned-Los Angeles Sparks guard wore a black evening gown with flowing sleeves and a bedazzled design around a peek-a-boo accent. She topped it off with Chanel earrings for that li'l special sauce.
