The NCAA Tournament is over, and all eyes are now on what comes next for the future of women’s basketball through the WNBA draft.

Following the addition of the Golden State Valkyries, the league will have 13 teams for the upcoming season. Despite the new total number of teams, there will only be 12 picks in the first round after the Las Vegas Aces lost their 2025 first-round pick in 2023 because of a rules violation.

The Dallas Wings and the Seattle Storm will start with the first and second picks, respectively. The Storm moved up to the second pick after a trade with the Los Angeles Sparks earlier this year. The Valkyries will have the fifth overall pick.

The Washington Mystics will pick ahead of Golden State with the third and fourth picks. The Mystics, who also have the sixth pick, acquired the third overall pick after a trade with the Chicago Sky.

The New York Liberty, Indiana Fever, Phoenix Mercury and Atlanta Dream all traded out of the first-round.

UConn star Paige Bueckers, who just led the Huskies to the national championship, is the consensus No. 1 overall pick by every expert. Here's how experts project the rest of the first round to go:
