WNBA MVP odds: Power ranking early-season favorites

We're only four games into the 2025 WNBA season, but it's never too early to evaluate early candidates to win this year's MVP award.

So, who are the WNBA MVP favorites this early in the season?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark is among the top of betting odds after a stellar rookie season that saw her win the Rookie of the Year award. But she is not the name currently leading all odds as the favorite.

That distinction currently belongs to Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, the league's top scorer, reigning Defensive Player of the Year and 2024 MVP runner-up. Collier is off to a white-hot start through the Lynx's first few games, and she leads betting odds as a result.

Rounding out the top three is a familiar face in Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson, who's coming off of her third WNBA MVP season in the last five years. Wilson isn't off to a tremendous start so far in 2025, but her status as one of the league's best players and expectation she'll return to form is enough to keep her among betting favorites to win yet another MVP award.

Here's a breakdown of all of the favorites to win the 2025 WNBA MVP award, as well as an extended list of odds for MVP candidates from the rest of the field.

WNBA power rankings: 2025 MVP odds

All odds according to DraftKings Sportsbook Monday afternoon.

The Favorites

Napheesa Collier, Minnesota Lynx: -115

Collier, the WNBA's reigning Defensive Player of the Year and last year's MVP runner-up, is off to a hot start to the 2025 season. Not only are her defensive metrics thus far on par with her 2024 marks, but Collier is also shooting better than she ever has in her career.

Through an (admittedly small) sample size of four games, Collier is leading the WNBA in points per game (29.5) while making shots at a 56.2% clip, the highest field goal percentage of her seven-year career. That's partially thanks to her increased rate of 3-point attempts – and makes. Her average of 3.3 3-point attempts per game and 53.8% conversion rate on attempts from behind the arc are both career highs.

If Collier can continue to be a menace on both ends of the floor while helping lead the first-place Lynx to another strong season, she could bring home her first MVP.

Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever: +150

When Monday began, Clark was the favorite to win the WNBA MVP award. But the Indiana Fever's announcement of their star guard's quad injury that afternoon was enough to supplant her from sportsbooks' top spot.

Still, Clark is among favorites to win the game's most prestigious award just four games into her sophomore campaign. After winning last year's Rookie of the Year award, the former Iowa star got off to a strong start, averaging 19.0 points per game (eighth in the WNBA) while leading the league with her 9.3 assists per game.

Though Clark's field goal and 3-point percentages are down from her rookie year averages, she's also grabbing more rebounds and swiping steals at a similar rate. That her shooting numbers are down could just be a side effect of the leg injury she's been battling since the preseason. It wouldn't be a surprise to see those improve as well upon her return.

A'ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces: +700

The WNBA's reigning MVP is back near the top of betting odds early in the season despite a relatively shaky start to the season through four games.

Wilson would be looking for her fourth career MVP in 2025 after an outstanding season last year that earned her her third MVP trophy in five seasons. So far, though – and again, in a very small sample size – her statistics are down almost across the board.

Wilson is scoring fewer points per game with the lowest field goal percentage of her career so far. She's also grabbing fewer boards and turning the ball over more than she did last year – though she's still averaging over 10 rebounds per game (10.8), a testament to just how good she was last year. Wilson is still one of the league's best players, and it should be expected that she'll progress to her career mean in the coming weeks and months as the season rolls on.
