Tech Five: Microsoft to launch Xbox in China next week
The Xbox One will make its debut in China next week. Let's take a look at the five technology stocks to watch Tuesday:
Microsoft. The company's video game console Xbox One will be available in China starting September 29, reports Reuters. The device was originally slated to launch Tuesday. Sony's rival PlayStation 4 console is also expected to arrive in China soon.
Apple. The company is denying a report that it will shut down the service Beats Music, which it acquired as part of Beats Electronics for $3 billion. However, consumers may see changes to the service, according to a person familiar with the situation.
Adobe. Shares of the software company are flat in pre-market trading after the announcement Adobe was acquiring Aviary, a company specializing in the creation of mobile software development kits (SDKs). In a statement, Adobe says the deal will help speed up development of cloud apps.
Alibaba. It's another down day for the Chinese e-commerce site after a powerful debut on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday. Shares are down nearly 2% in early morning trading, after closing Monday with a 4% slide.
BlackBerry. The company's Passport smartphone goes on sale in the U.S. Wednesday. According to The Wall Street Journal, the device will be available for $599 without a wireless contract.
