Grumpy Cat saunters into town to pitch movie
SAN FRANCISCO -- She came. She scowled. She slept.
Grumpy Cat, the Internet sensation with more than 7 million fans on Facebook and Twitter, sauntered into town late Friday to promote her new holiday movie and make a public appearance at Macy's in Union Square. In all, Grumpy did 11 TV, print and online interviews.
The preternaturally dour cat did a meet and greet with fans to coincide with Macy's for Holiday Windows, an annual event where adoptable cats and dogs are showcased in the department store's windows. She then posed for photos.
In yet another uneventful interview before the public event, the 2-year-old feline (real name: Tarder Sauce) had no comments across the board -- even when asked about her new Lifetime movie, Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever, which premieres Nov. 29. (She did, however, enjoy a brief scratch behind the ears.)
Grumpy barely moved or acknowledged her interviewer during a 3-minute sit-down, proving to be as elusive an interview as Hollywood's biggest divas.
She was downright catty.
