Tech Five: Amazon adds 4K video
Amazon has made the jump into streaming 4K video. Let's take a look at the technology stocks to watch Tuesday:
Amazon. The online marketplace is offering Ultra HD movies and TV shows to subscribers of its Amazon Prime service, which includes Amazon Instant Video. The upgrade in resolution will come free of charge, and include several programs including original series Alpha House and BBC America hit Orphan Black.
T-Mobile. Shares of the wireless carrier sunk more than 5% in morning trading after the company revealed a public offering of 17.4 million shares of convertible preferred stock, reports CNBC. The report says shares would carry a liquidation price of $50 a piece.
Salesforce. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki will join the cloud company's board of directors, reports Business Insider. Her appointment took effect December 5.
Apple. The iPod class-action case will press forward, even without a plaintiff. The Associated Press reports a federal judge denied Apple's calls for dismissal because the main plaintiff bought iPods outside the lawsuit's specified time frame. Attorneys suing Apple must find a new plaintiff by Tuesday.
Facebook. The social network is making it easier for users to find older posts. An update to Graph Search for desktop and iPhone will surface more posts from users. It's available starting today.
