Tech Five: Google shares details on I/O event


Google has set the dates for its I/O conference, which will offer a glimpse into the tech giant's future with Android and other properties. Let's look at the tech stocks to watch Wednesday:

Google. We finally have dates for Google's I/O developers conference. The event takes place May 28 and 29 in San Francisco. The conference will provide insight into what Google has planned for its various platforms, including its Android operating system, which has jumped from smartphones and tablets to wearables and vehicles.

AOL. Shares sunk more than 10% after the media company missed revenue estimates for the fourth quarter. However, AOL beat forecasts on earnings per share by 20 cents.

Nvidia. The chip maker reports fourth quarter earnings after the markets close Wednesday. Analysts estimate Nvidia will report $1.2 billion in revenue with earnings of 29 cents.

Samsung. The next Galaxy smartphone from the tech giant will come in two versions, including one with a display covering three sides, reports Bloomberg. The models will be revealed during this month's Mobile World Congress in Spain.

Apple. CEO Tim Cook says the company is partnering with First Solar to build an $848 million solar plant, which will power Apple's new headquarters in Cupertino, California.
