Samsung teases upcoming Galaxy 6 with YouTube video

Samsung is stoking the social media fire for the release of its upcoming Samsung Galaxy 6 smartphone.

The Korean electronics giant is expected to unveil the latest model of its flagship phone line March 1 in advance of the Mobile World Congress starts in Barcelona.

The impressionistic "Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015 - The Next Galaxy" video, posted Saturday on YouTube, promises that "Beauty will be powerful," and that "The future will be present," to a symphonic crescendo.

Samsung is looking to regain domination of a global smartphone market in which Apple nearly pulled even with its latest iPhone 6 models.

For the year, Samsung shipped 318.2 million smartphones, accounting for 24% of the market, according to International Data Corp., while Apple shipped 192.7 million for 14.8%.

However, in the fourth quarter of 2014, Apple shipped 74.5 million compared to Samsung's 75.1 million, a virtual dead heat, IDC said.
