Is Apple Watch a good business opportunity? Tech Roundtable
SAN FRANCISCO - Consumers will vote with their dollars on April 24th when Apple releases the Apple Watch, it's first new product category since 2010's iPad.
Smartwatches from LG, Samsung, Motorola and Pebble have yet to hit a major chord with the buying public. So is creating apps for the new Apple Watch a good business opportunity? Or is it too soon to tell?
The issue dominated our Paste BN Tech Roundtable this week. The complete audio is available for listening below.
On the podcast, we also weigh in on Hillary Clinton's e-mail woes, introduce you to a new app that gives you multiple phone numbers for your smart phone, and talked great camera gear.
Our panelists: Ruzwana Bashir, the CEO of travel advice site Peek, Don MacAskill, CEO of photo sharing site Smugmug, Eileen Gittins, CEO of self-publishing company Blurb, tech investor and photographer Christopher Michel and Peter Rinfret, the CEO of Flyp, the new app with multiple phone numbers.
On the podcast, Rinfret said the Watch is something he'll buy to develop an app for his company. But he doesn't want to purchase it as a consumer.
"I don't want to charge something else every night."
Of the panel, 2 members wanted to buy it for themselves. Three didn't. Tune in to find out who and why.
