Tech Five: Facebook conference kicks off this week
Social networking giant Facebook is prepping for its annual developers conference this week. Let's take a look at the tech stocks to watch Monday:
Facebook. The company's f8 conference kicks off Wednesday in San Francisco, and will likely offer a peek into what's next for the social network. Among the rumored announcements Facebook is expected to reveal at f8: the introduction of third-party apps to its Messenger service.
BlackBerry. The smartphone maker reports fourth quarter earnings on Friday. Analysts polled by FactSet predict BlackBerry will report a loss of 3 cents per share off revenue of $820 million.
Twitter. A former female software engineer is filing a class-action suit against the company for gender discrimination, reports Reuters. The suit claims Twitter's process for handling promotions overwhelmingly favors men.
Samsung. So long to pre-loaded app bundles? According to Engadget, owners of the electronics giant's Galaxy S6 smartphone will finally be able to delete any apps pre-loaded to the device.
Google. The company's Nexus TV set-top box will make its U.K. debut this Thursday, reports The Next Web. It's currently available in the U.S. for $99.
