Tech 5: Earnings fuel Netflix surge


Wall Street appears pleased with the subscriber growth at streaming media giant Netflix. Let's look at the technology stocks to watch Thursday:

Netflix. Shares jumped nearly 15% in morning trading after the company reported it added nearly 5 million subscribers. Analysts were forecasting growth of 4 million for the first quarter. Netflix also reported revenue of $1.57 billion with earnings of 38 cents per share.

SanDisk. Shares of the computer storage company sunk 7% after reporting a year-over-year decline in first quarter revenue. SanDisk generated $1.33 billion in revenue, down 12% from the year before.

Etsy. Shares of the online craft seller will begin trading today on the Nasdaq exchange. Etsy stock opens trading at $16 a share. They'll trade under the ticker symbol ETSY.

Apple. Hoping to purchase an Apple Watch in stores? You may have to wait until June. According to 9to5Mac, citing a memo to Apple Store staff from exec Angela Ahrendts, online-only availability for ordering the Apple Watch will last through May.

Microsoft. The company's Bing search engine reached 20% market share in the U.S. according to comScore. Google still remains the dominant leader in search with 64% share.
