Weekend listening: WWDC, Twitter, Facebook ads

LOS ANGELES — We have one of the busiest weeks ever for your weekend podcast listening pleasure.

Get ready to spend hours going over the big events of the week (Apple's WWDC developer conference, Twitter changing of the guard) and the big shindig for next week, the E3 gaming confab here.

We'll start @WWDC, where we have three reports.

I begin with a short news analysis, from a booth at Jillian's restaurant, across the street from Moscone Center West, where the WWDC was held in San Francisco.

Then Jon Swartz, Laura Mandaro and Ed Baig chime in, with a discussion about the new Apple Music streaming music service that was announced at WWDC. It debuts June 30.

Finally, a chat with the app developers themselves, about the state of the Apple app economy, which has seen 100 billion downloads in seven years, and $30 billion paid by Apple to developers. Is it too late to get rich making apps?

Next up: What's with the shakeup at Twitter, with CEO Dick Costolo stepping down? Mandaro, Swartz and columnist John Shinal explore.

Speaking of the social networks, let's shift to Facebook, where cousin Tina alerted me that my name was being used in Facebook ads. I started looking into it, and ditto for so many friends. A primer on how to change your settings to stop this from happening.

Moving to E3, reporters Brett Molina and Mike Snider offer a preview of what to expect.

Paste BN's Marco della Cava explains what's behind special effects house Industrial Light & Magic's new virtual reality lab, in a chat with Mandaro.

Finally, in the fun category, you've seen all those behind-the-scenes videos of photo shoots online. But have you listened to an audio BTS of said shoot? We have some fun with photographer Christopher Michel at the historic Caffe Trieste in San Francisco.

Don't forget that the Talking Tech Roundtable airs live every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on TuneIn. This week we're devoting the hour to a chat about telemedicine, and mobile health care, so be sure to come join us.
