Tech Five: Apple Music makes its big debut


Today is the day: Apple Music will finally arrive. After much anticipation since the service was officially announced earlier this month, Apple will roll out its new streaming service with the iOS 9 update at 11 a.m. ET.

Let's take a look at the tech stocks to watch Tuesday:

Apple (AAPL): Just a few hours before Apple Music is set to debut, Apple's stock was up nearly 1% during morning trading. The new streaming service will be available for a three-month free trial starting Tuesday, and will then be offered for $9.99 a month for on-demand subscription access to its library of 30-million plus tracks. Here's a first look at the service.

Pandora (P): Pandora currently reigns supreme against its competitors in the music streaming world. Before Tuesday's launch of Apple Music, Pandora's stock was slightly up during morning trading.

Google (GOOG): The Supreme Court rejected Google's appeal to stop a software copyright lawsuit that Oracle filed against it in 2010. The lawsuit alleges that Google's Android smartphone operating system infringes on copyright's of Oracle's Java software language.

AT&T (T): The telecom giant and DirectTV have extended the termination date for their merger plans, according to a document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday. AT&T announced its plans to acquire DirectTV last May, and now the company said the deal is imminent. Shares of AT&T were down nearly 1% during morning trading.

Microsoft (MSFT): Microsoft announced Monday that AOL will take over much of its display advertising business. The tech giant also said Monday that it would sell some of its digital mapping assets to Uber.
