Tech Five: Box to report earnings
Before Apple consumes all of the tech world's attention Wednesday with the unveiling of its next iPhone, there is some other big news to watch for this week. Let's look at the top tech stocks to watch Tuesday.
Box. The cloud storage company reports second quarter earnings after the markets close Wednesday. Analysts project revenue of $69.8 million and a loss of 29 cents a share. Last quarter, Box reported revenue of $65.6 million, topping forecasts. And Wall Street appears confident in Box, with shares surging 7% in pre-market trading.
Microsoft. The tech giant confirmed it acquired cloud security firm Adallom. The startup's services will continue to work with platforms including Dropbox and Salesforce, and become integrated into Microsoft's Office 365 and its enterprise service.
Apple. It appears the tech company will have more than a new iPhone and Apple TV to reveal. According to 9to5Mac, Apple will unveil the iPad Pro, which will boast a 12.9-inch display and the ability to run two apps side by side.
Amazon. The online retailer will ramp up its tablet offerings this holiday, reports The Wall Street Journal. Amazon plans to launch a 6-inch tablet for $50, as well as tablets with 8- and 10-inch screens.
Netflix. Don't get your hopes up about the streaming service offering offline downloads. Chief product officer Neil Hunt tells Gizmodo adding the feature will make the overall Netflix experience more complex.
