Sony announces new TV lineup

When it comes to dishing out big, juicy TVs, Sony doesn't mess around. But this year, the company looks a little modest next to the flashy output from Samsung and LG. You won't find any curved TVs or OLED models in Sony's 2016 lineup, and there's been much less hubbub about HDR and Dolby Vision, too.
Fortunately, the company is still delivering high-quality, HDR-ready 4K flat-screens. Most of the members of Sony's 2016 lineup are spiritual successors of some of last year's best-looking 4K/UHD TVs, so we're not complaining about the "if it ain't broke" approach. At least one thing's changed: Sony finally dropped those controversial side-mounted speakers.
Outside of the company's biggest and best 4K TVs, however, Sony is tight-lipped concerning forays into more affordable territory (like Full HD), and has yet to announce any zany 8K sets or curved screens.
