Dave Coulier's "Fuller House" of tech - podcast

VENICE BEACH - Actor Dave Coulier's Fuller House of tech gear has everything from Amazon Echo, drones, GoPros and might we mention that Nest security camera? He uses it to talk to his dog when he's out and about.

"I like to use the Nest to see if Shorty is tearing up his dog bed," says Coulier, best known for the long-running 1987-1995 TV series Full House, which returns Friday on Netflix as Fuller House. The first time he connected with Shorty remotely, "he freaked out a bit. He thought it was the voice of dog God. `It's Dad, Shorty.' Just calm down."

Coulier, who played Joey, one of the three uncles on Full House with John Stamos and Bob Saget, joined Paste BN recently for an extended Talking Tech podcast interview. Click the link below to listen, and subscribe to iTunes for the latest episodes.

When he's not talking to Shorty via Nest, he's chatting away with Alexa, the voice of Amazon's Echo personal digital assistant. "I'm always leaving my phone in the car, or somewhere else, so it's easier to just talk with Alexa," and ask her to play classical music on Pandora or get him the latest news from the BBC. On the show, the "gadget freak" also talks about his latest purchases and loves and his forthcoming children's e-book, the Adventures of Jimmy Booger. Coulier will be performing stand-up comedy this weekend at Rumor's in Manitoba, Canada.
