Is Apple Pay down? Usage issues reported May 16

Thousands reported problems using Apple Pay on Friday, May 16, according to the outage tracker website, Downdetector.

According to the site, reports peaked at over 2,800 at around noon ET on Friday, with a slight decrease in reports an hour later. Reports about issues appeared to have subsided shortly after 1 p.m. ET.

Users reported issues with Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Pay, and Apple Wallet. As of Friday afternoon, Apple’s system status website showed that all problems had been resolved.
