Get your paws on the Cat Paint app for photo fun

VENICE BEACH, Calif. — Welcome to another weekend edition of Talking Tech, where we occasionally look at fun apps to kill time with.

Today's installment: Cat Paint, the 99 cent iOS app.

"Oh my gosh," says Briana Langer of Los Angeles. "You can take a picture of anything and super-impose cats on it."

But that's not all.

You can also make lasers shoot out of the eyes.

Singers Taylor Swift ("It will change your life") and Katy Perry ("OMG — Cat Paint me) have tweeted about it. Here on the famed Ocean Front Walk, Langer takes a picture to show why she likes it so much.

I line up with her friends Samantha Parkinson and Liana Nierenberg, she snaps the shot, and afterward — there's not only a cat at the bottom of the screen, there's also lasers darting from my eyes.

There are over 50 different cat combos possible with the app, according to developer Davander Mobile Corp. And when the cat is placed in the image, it will "meow" on cue.
