CES 2014: Battery case for phones packs solar power

LAS VEGAS -- Now this is cool: A $99.99 solar powered battery for smartphones.

The Colorado company, EnerPlex, unveiled its line of solar-powered batteries at CES 2014 here. The unit fits iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones, and promises to double the battery life of your phone.

A caveat -- you don't want to put your phone in the hot sun to charge it up, as the phone will stop working. Instead, the company advises to put the case out there in the sun -- and then add in the phone.
