Video: 'Kingdom Hearts' is back
LOS ANGELES -- It seems video game publishers' goal for this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo was to fulfill the dreams of video game players.
Project we'd never thought we would see made appearances, most notably The Last Guardian. Meanwhile, Square Enix resurrected a beloved role-playing game with the announcement of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Square Enix is at it again, confirming they are developing Kingdom Hearts III, an action title that stars lead character Sora and characters from the Disney universe. The series has also featured characters from Square's Final Fantasy series.
The trailer shows lead character Sora along with Disney icons Donald Duck and Goofy fighting enemies in a world based on the Disney animated film Tangled. Square Enix has yet to offer more details on other potential Disney cameos.
No release date was revealed, but it's in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
