You can now watch 'Hunger Games,' other films on Steam
Valve Software's Steam platform continues its expansion beyond video games.
Valve announced a partnership with Lionsgate to launch more than 100 movies available for purchase through the Steam marketplace. Films involved in the deal include The Hunger Games, Divergent and Twilight.
"Their films are engaging audiences and fostering rich communities around the world, reflecting the kind of high-quality entertainment that we expect to drive the continued expansion of our content offering," says Valve marketing head Doug Lombardi in a statement.
Although Valve already allows its customers to view videos through Steam, this is the first partnership featuring a major Hollywood studio. The service boasts 125 million users.
Users can watch movies on all Steam platforms, including virtual reality through SteamVR. Prices for individual films range from $4 to $8.
