Watch: Empire State Building light up for the holidays

The holidays are in full swing at the Empire State Building in New York City this week.

Starting at 7 p.m. each night until Dec. 24, LED lights on the iconic building will flicker to the beat of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, performed by the band Pentatonix.

Pentatonix's self-titled October album, their first of original songs, made history by debuting at the top of the Billboard charts in October, the first a cappella record to hold that distinction.

The Empire State Building is no stranger to lighting up for the holidays or to pay tribute to major events. In August, the building lit up with projections of endangered animals and following terror attacks in France last January the building lit up in the colors of the French flag.
