Tech Five: FireEye shares rise after acquisition


Shares of security company FireEye are higher in early trading following a big acquisition. Meanwhile, Verizon topped fourth quarter forecasts off strong subscriber growth.

Let's look at tech stocks to watch Thursday:

FireEye. The company confirmed it acquired iSIGHT Partners, which specializes in assessing cyber security threats for other companies. Products created by iSIGHT will still be available. The deal is worth $200 million.

Logitech. Shares of the accessories maker surged early after boosting its guidance for the fiscal year. The Wall Street Journal reports Logitech earnings were lifted by sales of online gaming accessories and mobile speakers.

Verizon. Strong subscriber growth during the fourth quarter helped shares of the telecommunications giant creep upward. Earnings were up 25% compared to last year, while revenue during the quarter topped Wall Street forecasts.

Citrix. The cloud company appointed Microsoft veteran Kirill Tatarinov as its next president and CEO. He previously served as executive vice president of Microsoft's Business Solutions Division.

IBM. Big Blue is reportedly attempting to bolster its cloud offerings by acquiring live video service uStream. According to Fortune, the deal would be worth $130 million.
