Report: Alphabet's Page investing in flying cars

It appears Alphabet CEO Larry Page isn't only interested in cars that drive themselves.

According to Bloomberg, Page has been secretly funding startups specializing in flying cars. One startup in particular, called Zee.Aero, has been funded by Page since 2010, says the report.

Zee.Aero, based near Google's headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., had been working on a prototype flying car capable of taking off and landing vertically.

Citing "two people familiar with the company," the report says Page has invested more than $100 million in Zee.Aero.

Meanwhile, Google engineers continue their work on a fleet of self-driving cars. Last month, the company said it would open a development center outside Detroit, and will partner with Fiat to create a line of minivans supporting Google's self-driving car tech.
