Amazon expands Prime Now to Houston restaurants

Amazon will take your order now, Houston.

The online retail giant is continuing its expansion into a new arena: restaurant deliveries.

On Wednesday, the company announced it would be bringing its growing restaurant delivery service to the Houston area, with delivery available from 95 restaurants including Carrabba’s, El Tiempo Cantina, Max’s Wine Dive and P.F. Chang’s.

The company already delivers to Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Diego, Austin, Baltimore, and Portland, Ore. In May, it expanded to Dallas and New York.

Available to subscribers of the company's $99 per year Prime service, delivery from Amazon Restaurants is ordered through the company's Prime Now service. Amazon claims there will be no menu markup or delivery and service fees when ordering through its service, with customers paying the same price as they would at the restaurant.

If an item is found to be priced higher on Amazon than on the restaurant's online menu within 24 hours of placing the order, the retail giant says it will refund the price of the item.

Amazon says deliveries will be completed in an hour or less once they are placed.
