Apple recalls Beats Pill XL speakers for fire risk

Apple announced Wednesday it is recalling the Beats Pill XL portable speaker over a potential fire safety risk.

The company says in rare cases, the battery on the speaker may overheat and possible create a fire risk. Apple says no other products have been affected.

Apple says they will issue full refunds to customers.

The speakers were launched by Beats in November 2013, several months before Apple announced it was acquiring the music electronics company for $3 billion.

Apple is expected to reveal details of a streaming music service leveraging Beats at next week's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
