GoPro to launch its own drone next year
Add GoPro to the list of companies jumping into the drone market.
The high-definition camera maker revealed it will launch a drone called Karma in 2016. GoPro released a one-minute teaser video showing footage taken from the air using Karma.
GoPro has yet to release additional details on Karma, including what the drone looks like, compatibility with GoPro camera models, how the drone is controlled, and price.
GoPro had reportedly been in talks with drone maker DJI to collaborate on a drone supporting GoPro cameras. According to Fast Company, DJI CEO Frank Wang claims GoPro wanted two-thirds of the profits.
Shares of GoPro have plunged since August, as concerns grow over sales growth. Since hitting a six-month high of $64.74 on August 10, shares of GoPro have sunk more than 70%.
