This week’s episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, “Rescue on Ryloth,” picks up right where “Devil’s Deal” left off. General Cham Syndulla and his inner circle remain in Imperial custody on Ryloth following Admiral Rampart’s staged assassination attempt on Senator Orn Free Taa’s life. Rampart threatens to go after their daughter, Hera, and is targeting anyone still openly loyal to the Syndullas.
While Crosshair and his troops hunt for young Hera, she and Chopper send out a distress call asking for the Bad Batch’s help. Omega persuades her brothers to go back, but Hunter offers to simply transport Hera offworld. Going into Imperial territory to rescue her parents is too great a risk, he tells her.

What happens in this episode of ‘The Bad Batch’?
“She’s trying to save her family, Hunter,” says Omega. “I’d do the same for you.”
Having been spotted by a probe droid, Crosshair knows the Batch is there on Ryloth. And Admiral Rampart is speaking to the public about how Cham Syndulla is a traitor, and saying that Senator Taa’s expected to make a full recovery. Rescuing the Syndullas will be a dangerous task, but Omega tells Hera they just need to come up with a solid plan in order to convince Hunter.
Captain Howzer, the clone formerly in charge of Republic forces stationed on Ryloth, goes to Cham and Eleni offering to protect Hera from the Empire, but Syndullas no longer trust him. He’ll have to earn it back with action.
Omega suggests an elaborate plan to draw Imperial forces away from the capitol by attacking their new refinery, making a rescue more feasible. She and Hera hijack an Imperial shuttle with Hera at the controls, using it to blow up the generator that powers most of the refinery’s turbolaser cannons. Rampart heads to the refinery, leaving Howzer in charge of guarding the prisoners.
Crosshair wises up to Omega’s plan almost immediately, suspecting Cham to be the Batch’s real target. He aims his rifle at the capitol entrance. Howzer warns the Syndullas of this, then goes outside to give his men a speech, reminding them of their loyalties and asking them to stand with him in throwing down their arms. Crosshair orders them arrested as traitors.
But the Batch and the Syndulla family escape, flying off in a small civilian shuttle. Hunter refuses to accept payment for the impromptu rescue, and the two families say their goodbyes. “I’m sure I’ll see you around,” Hera tells Omega. “Thanks for believing in me.” Omega waves farewell as the Syndullas lift off into the skies.
The episode ends with Crosshair asking Rampart for permission to hunt down his brothers and put an end to their constant meddling.
“Granted,” says the admiral.
