Bose has unveiled the newest addition to its lineup of travel headphones, the Bose QuietComfort 45, available to pre-order right now for $329. The new QC45 will ship later this month on September 23rd.

When it comes to great noise canceling headphones, Bose tends to make the grade. The company's QuietComfort 35 and QuietComfort 35 II have lived at the top of our headphone roundups for years—we even love the company's true wireless options—so we're expecting great things from the QuietComfort 45.

According to Bose, the QC45 will replace the QC 35 II in Bose's headphone lineup. The new noise canceling champ purportedly improves on its predecessor's noise canceling abilities, adds a new "AWARE" mode (a form of transparency/ambient awareness mode that allows you to hear what's going on around you rather than shutting it out) and gives you 24 hours of playback time on a single charge.

While we can't confirm any improvements until we get the QC45 into the Reviewed labs for the usual rounds of rigorous testing, Bose has a very strong track record, so these feel like a smart pre-order if you're looking for what could be the best noise canceling headphones of the year.
