Planning a full rewatch of the Skywalker Saga before The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters? After Phantom Menace, it’s time to check out Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. New streaming service Disney+ lets you watch it from the comfort of your living room or on your favorite mobile device.

Where to stream Attack of the Clones online

You’re now able to stream Attack of the Clones on Disney+ wherever you’re connected to the internet. Disney’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service is now available in the U.S. and Canada and will eventually be rolling out worldwide.

Disney+ is supported on desktop browsers, “a wide range” of mobile devices, smart TVs, and video-game consoles. The subscription-based platform will serve as the new home for Walt Disney Studios films as well as original, exclusive Disney+ content like Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, and a full slate of live-action Marvel shows.

What is Attack of the Clones about?

Picking up ten years after the previous film, Attack of the Clones is essentially the story of Anakin’s reunion with Padmé, their idyllic (and forbidden) courtship, and the fall of democracy. There’s also an uncomfortable sequence involving the death of someone dear to Anakin and the vengeance he seeks afterward; this movie is our first glimpse at the man he eventually becomes in the next movie, Revenge of the Sith.

Clones takes its time in the first two acts, but the romance scenes are often breathtaking (and, occasionally, more than a little bit corny), and there are a pair of chase sequences that stand as some of the best action in all of Star Wars. The big gladiatorial-arena set piece and the war scenes that follow are as dazzling now as they were in 2002.

“No screen fantasy-adventure in recent memory has the showmanship of Clones’ last 45 minutes,” Mike Clark wrote in his USA Today review of the film. In more recent years, critic Kelly Lawler has expressed a similar affection for the oft-maligned sequel: “The entire third act of Clones, from the arena fight to the first Clone War battle to Anakin and Padmé’s secret wedding, is the greatest contribution the prequels make to the Star Wars canon, as thrilling to watch as anything in Return of the Jedi.”

Series newcomer Hayden Christensen leads a cast that also includes Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Temuera Morrison, Kenny Baker, and Anthony Daniels. Composer John Williams delivers perhaps his greatest Star Wars theme with “Across the Stars.”
