Smart doorbells may be relatively new to the tech world but they've certainly proven their worth: Investing in one undoubtedly results in a safer home from the inside out. Between the notifications that will give you a heads up when someone is approaching your house to the high-quality video recordings that allow for speedy reaction, these handy little gadgets provide an extra layer of safety that you wouldn't otherwise have—and today, one of favorite models is at a major discount.

Regularly $99, you can grab a used Ring Video Doorbell 2 at Woot right now for just $69.99. Since these models aren't brand new, there may be cosmetic imperfections present but each unit has been tested by Amazon (Woot's parent company) to ensure it's still in perfect working condition.

This tried-and-true smart doorbell wowed us in testing for many reasons: For starters, it offers 1080p video resolution, which we found to be a major improvement over its predecessor's 720p, along with enhanced, clean crisp night vision. We also found the two-way audio to be impressively loud. Meanwhile, beefed-up security measures, like two-factor authentication, the option to view and remove linked accounts and shared users and control over which devices and third-party apps are synced, address issues seen in previous models.

I also enjoy it in my own home: After moving to a new city, my boyfriend and I felt like we needed some extra security and snagged this second-generation model. Installation was easy (it arrives with the necessary drill bits and hardware to set up), and we were instantly pleased with the ultra-clear video and sound quality. Using the supplementary Ring app, we receive notifications every time our doorbell senses motion detection, and we can even review previous footage or talk to whoever is at our doorstep.

If you have some extra cash to spend or aren't into buying a used model, you can pick up a brand new one at Amazon for $99. Either way, these highly-rated devices are selling quickly, and the Woot sale only lasts through the end of today, September 15, so you'll want to get yours ASAP!
