If you own a TV, you need a streaming device. Even if your TV comes with smart apps built in, a dedicated streaming device will hold up better in the long run, is easily replaceable if things go awry and generally offers better overall quality and features than the stuff that is built into even high-end TVs.

Our favorite affordable streamer is the Roku Streaming Stick+, which is an absurd value—at its regular price of $50. You can get it on Prime Day for just $37, which is about 25% off.
That means you get a streaming device that works great with 1080p and 4K TVs, supports HDR if your TV does, has phenomenal wireless range, and the best-in-class Roku remote.

If you want something a little higher end, we also strongly recommend the Roku Ultra, which is currently our favorite overall streaming device and is on sale for $79.99. The Streaming Stick+ is the better value, but the Roku Ultra has a better remote that lets you plug headphones in to listen remotely and a button on the box that causes the remote to play a chime so you can find it in the couch cushions.
Either way, you can't go wrong. The Roku platform is still our favorite, easy to use, and it supports all the major streaming services—including Netflix, Amazon, and newer services like Peacock, HBO, and Apple TV. Don't miss this deal.
