When we tested Opal's flagship model (and made a video of it, which garnered 38 million views), the Opal Countertop Nugget Ice Maker, our tester was immediately wowed by the small, semi-soft, nubby-textured chunks of ice that can absorb flavor and amplify all sorts of drinks. He also noted that chewing on a regular ice cube is a great way to quickly damage your teeth. But nugget ice breaks easily when you bite into it—with a texture between a snow cone and a slushy.
