Christmas tree sales are surging—here's where you can still buy them online

Maybe it's because people are spending more time at home than ever before or maybe it's because we could all use a little extra cheer this holiday season. Regardless of the reason, Christmas trees are selling out much earlier—and much faster—than usual this year. Plus, with more people attempting to order trees online to avoid getting a tree IRL during the pandemic, it's making stock even more scarce.

Christmas tree farms across the country report that they're running low on stock—if they even have any trees left at all. Not only do some compare the Christmas tree rush to the toilet paper craze of early quarantine days, but one tree farm owner even told NBC 12 that he's never seen anything like this in the 46 years that he's been selling trees.

While many retailers selling fresh Christmas trees online are already sold out, you can still find them at a few places, including The Home Depot and Lowe's. However, you'll want to act fast as there are only a few sizes and varieties left in stock as of today.

If you're unable to get your hands on a real tree or if you'd rather have an artificial one, we've also listed some of the top places to buy artificial Christmas trees online as well based on our own testing of the fake spruces. The same caveat applies to these: click "add to cart" ASAP so you actually get one, and to make sure it arrives within the last few weeks of the holiday season as there have been shipping delays.
