Toshiba aims for gamers, content creators with 3D laptop

Looking for the ultimate HD laptop to edit videos, play games and listen to music? Many consumers think of Apple's MacBook Pro first, which starts at $2,199. Toshiba would like consumers to check out its more full-featured Qosmio X875 3D laptop. It has a 17.3-inch screen (compared to 15-inch for top of the line standard resolution MacBook.) a Blu-ray drive/burner (MacBooks have no DVD drive) and a 3-D display.

"What makes this a first is a 1 terabyte hybrid drive," says product manager Carrie Cowan. The comparable MacBook has a 750 GB drive.

"We also have a full sound system, with four Harman Kardon speakers and a sub-woofer," says Cowan.

The laptop is targeted toward gamers and folks who like to make YouTube views, and will be in stores in March.
