Obama tears up twice this week
Who says President Obama lacks emotion?
The president has teared up twice this week as he won the last campaign of his career and faces a second term in the White House.
Obama first choked up during his last campaign speech Monday night in Iowa, the state that launched his presidential career four years ago after a victory in the 2008 Iowa Democratic caucuses.
The president got emotional again speaking with his staff after securing his re-election victory.
"I'm really proud of all of you," Obama said before wiping away a tear.
As the Associated Press noted, Obama "isn't the only world leader unashamed to be seen crying in public -- or simply unable to avoid it. Attitudes seem to have changed since the early 1970s, when an alleged crying incident during the presidential primary season went a long way toward derailing the candidacy of a Maine senator (Edmund Muskie)."
The AP story spotlights other crying politicians, from Russian President Vladimir Putin -- to Obama's political opposite, Republican Speaker John Boehner.
