Obama's day: John Dingell and gay rights
President Obama spends Thursday honoring a record-setting member of Congress and a relatively new civil rights movement.
In the morning, Obama meets with U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., who recently became the longest serving member of Congress in history.
Dingell, first elected to the House in 1955 to replace his late father, will honored in a congressional ceremony later on Thursday.
Back at the White House this afternoon, the president discusses gay rights at a White House celebration for LGBT Pride Month.
