Celebs urge Obama to pursue nuke ban
A gaggle of Hollywood actors has cut a new video, this one urging President Obama to pursue the end of nuclear weapons at this week's G-8 summit.
"The message from national security experts and citizens around the world is clear: the only way to eliminate the global nuclear danger is to eliminate all nuclear weapons," says actor Michael Douglas. "It's time to set the world's course to zero."
Douglas is joined by Alec Baldwin, Matt Damon, John Cusack, Whoopi Goldberg, Morgan Freeman, Naomi Watts and Christoph Waltz, all calling for the "zero option" on nuclear weapons.
The video is produced by Global Zero, an advocacy group that wants to eliminate all nuclear weapons in the year 2030.
The ad will likely find a receptive audience. Obama has often spoke of his desire to reduce and even eliminate the world's nuclear arsenals.
