Obama's day: A visit from India
President Obama welcomes the prime minister of India to an unique dinner Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a religious fast, and will likely stick to water or tea as he dines with Obama, Vice President Biden, and other officials. The White House says it will accommodate Modi's dietary needs.
Obama and Modi will have more formal meetings Tuesday, as the two nations discuss issues such as trade, economic growth, national security, clean energy, and climate change.
Also on Monday, Obama meets with Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro.
In the afternoon, the president headlines a Democratic National Committee "roundtable" fundraiser.
