Obama's day: A meeting with Netanyahu
The Middle East dominates President Obama's schedule on Wednesday.
The president welcomes Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for a meeting that includes another discussion about the long-standing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
Other topics include Iran's nuclear program and U.S.-led efforts to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
"Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit is a demonstration of the deep and enduring bonds between the United States and Israel, and our close consultations on a range of regional issues," says the White House schedule.
Also on Wednesday, Obama meets with Secretary of State John Kerry.
The president also hosts a White House ceremony honoring Sporting Kansas City, the champions of Major League Soccer.
In the early evening, Obama will travel back to his hometown of Chicago, where he will spend the night.
The president has an economic speech and a campaign fundraiser in the Chicago area on Thursday.
