Obama attends 2 dinners (one in D.C., one in Chicago)

President Obama hit the dinner circuit in a unique way Wednesday, breaking bread with political supporters in Washington and — just hours later — with old friends in Chicago.

In the late afternoon, Obama made a quick trip to Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab — just a few blocks from the White House — to meet the winners of a "Dinner With President Obama" sponsored by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

According to the DSCC, Obama dined with Hannah Banks, an architect from the Boston area who brought along her husband Howard, and Andrea Abrahams, a court clerk from New York who was accompanied by her friend Susan.

After that dinner, Obama went back to the White House to leave for his trip to Chicago — where, at about 7:50 p.m. local time, he arrived at the RPM steakhouse.

The president spent nearly three hours at that dinner, which included Valerie Jarrett, Marty Nesbitt and other friends from his Chicago days.

Obama spent the night at his home in Chicago.
