President Obama meets Wednesday with his newest employee: Ron Klain, the Ebola Response Coordinator.

Klain, the former chief of staff for Vice President Biden whose appointment as "Ebola czar" drew catcalls from Republicans and some medical professionals, starts work five days after the White House announced his appointment.

His duties involve management of the various government agencies that are seeking to contain the Ebola virus.

"He's got a responsibility for making sure that all of the government agencies that are responsible for responding to this effort are coordinated and integrated in a way that meets the high standards that the president set for his team," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

The government's Ebola response drew criticism after three people in Dallas contracted the deadly virus.

Klain was spotted at the White House on Tuesday.

Obama also has a series of meetings with senior advisers on Wednesday.
