Obama's day: Manufacturing

President Obama starts a busy, campaign-style week Monday with an event on manufacturing.

Obama will unveil a series of new executive actions during a meeting of his Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Steering Committee.

The new orders call for redirecting $300 million in federal money to new manufacturing technologies, $100 million for apprenticeship programs and $150 million to help manufacturers market new technologies.

With only eight days left until national elections, Obama is scheduled to spend much of week on the campaign trail, including appearances in Wisconsin, Maine, Michigan, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
