Obama: Presidents always popular in other countries
As President Obama urged people in Burma to maintain a path to democracy, he also dispensed some advice for leaders: Expect criticism.
Obama — the subject of some criticism himself — cited the inevitability of political attacks in a free society during an exchange with students at Yangon University. One of them asked Obama what he would do if he were president of Burma.
"Let me just say: You are always popular in somebody else's country," Obama said. "When you are in your own country, everybody is complaining."
